From a set of 36 monochrome, square images, 1920x1920px.
These are screenshots of a series of frames saved from a generative animation I made in 2018.
The animation consisted of two human figures moving across the screen and continously bouncing off the edges of the image, leaving a trail of their floundering positions.
The frames were saved as PDF, so I could zoom in and out endlessly without losing any sharpness of the lines and forms. While displaying the PDFs on a square screen I paused like a photographer and made, surprised by the appearing compositions, a screenshot.
This combination of an algorithmic and a manual selection procedure allowed me to wander around the perfect paralel running lines, or to hover quietly above the square shapes and subtle gradients of black, white and grey.
That simple joy of exploring just that, forms and lines.
