Sometimes inspiration just comes by in the form of a suggestion by a friend to apply for a collaboration with a magazine. Thanks Jürgen and Feuersthuhl to bring me to a 'translation' of Ulysses by James Joyce. The instruction for this series of 18 prints is super simple: search for James Joyce Ulysses text online, copy text of each episode, here episode 11, Sirens, change font to custom hansup font, justify, tweak and print.
Together 1.726.112 characters are transformed into my silly pixel people forming 18 grey squares. There is nothing to read and nothing to understand. It's fascination for numbers, repitition and using a literary text as a kind of algorithm to fill a piece of paper with little robots, rabbits, girls, boys, cats and dogs. Episode 11, Sirens has 69.943 people lined up. Justified.
