At the Academy in Ghent we were supposed to draw. Luckily drawing could be anything. At one point I started to use just any kind of paint or color I could lay my hands on. Sheets of paper were dipped or kept for a longer time in several buckets of different paints and colors. Something I saw my fellow student, Henk Somers, also doing. He didn't need to be at school, he is an amazing master of all trades.
And then I picked these really small samples out of the chaos of coloured fluids and felt I had to present them as full blown paintings. I was hypnotized by the almost microscopic effects of blues on these pieces of paper.
